About Shawn Duffy, Practice Lead, Baleen Data, Geffen Mesher:

Starting at 19 years old, Shawn says he feels lucky to have discovered the “puzzles” he likes to solve at such a young age. Jump forward a “couple” of years, Shawn brings that experience to his clients as the Practice Lead of Baleen Data, Geffen Mesher’s branded division that helps organizations optimize their information assets. Prior to joining Geffen Mesher to start Baleen Data, he was a Partner and Data Practice Lead at a consulting firm in Beaverton, a National Data Leader for Hitachi Consulting, and has travelled extensively throughout North America helping clients of all sizes with their data and analytics.

Always close to the data, his passion is translating raw information into actionable insights. He also teaches at Portland State University in the Graduate School of Business where he teaches a course in Data Storytelling and acts as a Graduate Thesis Advisor to Applied Data Science for Business graduate students. He has also developed data and analytics coursework for the Undergraduate level that is taught by other instructors.

Nick has been working in the retirement plans space since 2001 and has been the Vice President of RPW Services for since 2007. Nick is a licensed Investment Advisory Representative (IAR) and carries his series 6, 63, and 65 securities licenses. Additionally, Nick holds state life insurance licenses. He is also a designated Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF). This designation ensures strong stewardship of and commitment to fiduciary best practices within the industry. Nick has a passion for learning and teaching, and brings that to plan sponsors and participants. He has worked closely with many leading providers in the retirement space and has experience matching employer specific needs and desires to market knowledge and trends. Nick and his family are avid baseball fans. He is involved in and supports Camas Little League and Seton Catholic High School baseball.
